PENGASSAN Excites Host Communities with Life-Touching Projects
The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, Mobil Producing Nigeria branch has excited host communities and locals with about 12 life-touching projects.
The projects cited at Eket, Esit Eket, ONNA, and Ibeno Local Government Areas, known as Give Back to Society Projects (GBTS), were commissioned yesterday, 15 May 2023.
The project includes the construction of a 6000-liter borehole facility at Q.I.C Primary School, Ikot Edor, the construction of a 9000-liter borehole and water treatment facility at Iwuo Okpom, Ibeno LGA, the Modernization of a four-room toilet facility at Q.I.C Primary School, Usung Inyang, Eket LGA, construction of a four-room state of the art toilet facility at Community Secondary School, Akpautong, Esit Eket LGA.
Others include the renovation of a four-classroom hall with 2 – office space, renovation of a 4 – classroom hall with two room office space, renovation of a four-classroom block, completion of a one-room gatehouse, donation of over 150 dual desks, grass cutting mower and tables at St Gregory Primary School, Ikot Ebok, Eket LGA.
The give back to the Society projects also donated 140 dual desks to Holy Cross Lutheran Primary School, Uquo, Esit Eket LGA,
The Branch Chairman of PENGASSAN, Comrade Lete Nwibasi, speaking during the event said the Give Back to Society Program is a noble and selfless initiative that epitomizes the spirit of corporate social responsibility and a clear testament to the organization’s vision of sustainable development and its unwavering dedication to the betterment of the society.
He narrated that through the program, its organization has taken on the mantle of philanthropy, recognizing the importance of giving back to the community in which it operates.
While commissioning the different projects executed by the association, the former Chairman of PENGASSAN, Mobil Producing Nigeria Branch, and presently the National Publicity Secretary of the association, Comrade Kings Udoidua, whose leadership initiated the projects commended the members for their sacrifices and for accepting to support the association towards actualizing the task of impacting its host communities.
He charged the benefitting schools and communities to safeguard and make good use of the projects while calling for the government and other notable agencies to emulate the same gesture to attract meaningful community development.
Udoidua also commended the committee charged with executing the projects, adding that their prudent usage of resources and timely delivery deserves high commendation.
In his remarks, the Public and Governmental Affairs of ExxonMobil Corporation, Mr. Edumoh, commended PENGASSAN for their commitment to community services, saying that the projects are executed by workers in ExxonMobil Corporation and not the company.
He urged the recipients to appreciate the good gesture of the donor while safeguarding the projects to attract more.
