A social media commentator Ubong Ndanyougmong while reacting to the post appreciated the Chairman of Itu local government for giving the participants a handshake and a fair amount in the 3 million naira price money.
The said post by Hon. Samuel has created a lot of reactions with no defends whatsoever from the chairman’s media team. Rather condemnation with social media influencers like Nsisong Frank asking “But why is this Chairman this controversial? Who did Uyo people offend?”
However, Chairman House committee on Education, Youth and Sports Hon. Ekom Okon asked for more patience as the event has been overtaken by time. Apparently meaning that the Chairman is not keen on rewarding those athletes.
Speaking with our reporter, Pastor Ndaraka Ubom of Global Christian Center, 37 Aka Etinan Road in Uyo community quoting proverbs 17:13 said “Evil will never leave the house of one who pays back evil for good”.
Other pundits who spoke said the chairman has disappointed the youthful generation with his performance in office. The pundit who didn’t want his name mentioned said “the chairman started very well, but has failed to connect with the feelings of the people, we cannot support him for any political office again”.
