YOU ARE THE FIRST EVER ASPIRANT TO CONSULT US- EX PDP OFFICERS TELL PASTOR ENO

Saturday evening brought about an interplay of emotions and exhilarating feelings at the State Party Secretariat, as Governorship Top Contender, Pastor Umo Eno, in his usual display of humility and respect to critical stakeholders in the State, consulted all former officers of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The party officers who were pleasantly surprised at the gesture, said it was the first time an aspirant has showed them such recognition and regards since the inception of the party in 1998, and described Pastor Umo Eno as a God fearing team player, who has what it takes to sustain the peace in the state and also engender its entrepreneurial development.
Former State Deputy Chairman, Sir Michael Essang, former House of Assembly Member, Obong Aniedi Andem, and former State Legal Adviser, Barr Godwill Umoh, spoke for Eket, Uyo and Ikot Ekpene Senatorial Districts respectively, while former Ibeno PDP Chairman, Ekokwaha Etteh, spoke for former local government chapter chairmen.
“We know that one who with experience in a position, can best advise on who can also manage that position, and we believe that our leader Governor Udom Emmanuel, has taken a wise and informed decision in preferring Pastor Umo Eno, out of all who are aspiring”, Sir Essang said.
“We former officers of the party in Eket Senatorial District have already made up our mind to support your aspiration,” Essang said.
This was corroborated by Barr Godwill Umoh, as well as Obong Aniedi Andem and Mr Etteh.
The scenario was a replica of the famous moonlight gathering of a typical Akwa Ibom family members, as Pastor Eno took time to interact and exchange pleasantries with those, he admitted, sacrificed to build and nourish the Party to its excellent state.
Pastor Eno who harped on his ability to build and sustain job opportunities from his experiences, told the ex party officers that his focus is on the young people.
“Rather than throwing money on our young people, I will focus on enhancing their capacities and creating opportunities that they will be able to make a living from.
“Since 1999 money has been thrown at our youths, nothing meaningful has come out of it.
“I am told that there are several young people who used to go to night clubs to burn out over 10milion naira every other day but today they cannot afford two square meals.”
Pastor Eno said he came to Akwa Ibom State on his own volition and from the scratch has a conglomerate of businesses that have employed several people, adding that with the formula of being able to grow businesses, he holds the ace to grow investments in the State.
“I am sitting with you and interacting with you freely, but I will never give you any oath to take to support me, because I want you to go with your conscience”,he added.
Pastor Eno was accompanied by the members of the Maintain Peace Movement, led by the National Chairman, Barr Emmanuel Enoidem, Deputy Chairman of his Campaigns, Dr. Godwin Ntukude, and several members of support organisations.
