Late Sunday Mbang set for burial 11th of August
His Eminence, Late Sunday Mbang, Emeritus Prelate of Methodist Church and former President of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, will be buried on Friday, 11th August 2023, at Eket, Akwa Ibom State community.
Recall that Prelate Sunday Mbang passed on to the great Beyond on 16th May 2023 at 86 (1936 – 2023).
In a special interaction with select members of the fourth estate of the realm, Sir. Ini Mbang, JP informed the general public of plans of activities for the burial of the departed patriarch.
As contained in his statement, the event begins tomorrow, Wednesday 19th July 2023, at Prelate Mbang’s Christian Chapel with a special service by Methodist Boys High School old boys by 10 am and a novelty march between Methodist Old Boys and Hope Waddel, Old Boys at Shelter Afrique football field.
A commendation service is also billed for Wednesday, 26th July 2023, at Methodist Church of the Trinity, Lagos State, by 10 am, while the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN will conduct a special service at the National Christian Centre Abuja by 4 pm.
The mourning house is expected to officially open on Sunday, 6th August, followed by Praise and Hymn night by 6 pm on 7th August at Prelate Mbang’s Christian Chapel, Shelter Afrique, Uyo. There will also be a service of songs on Tuesday, 8th August, at Insight Bible Church, Uyo, by 4 pm.
On 9th August 2023, a Tribute on “His Life and Time’s” by 11 am at Emerald Event Centre, Uyo, with a commendation service at Immanuel Methodist Church, Uyo, by 5 pm.
The burial proper will hold after lying in state and service on Friday, 11 August, at His Eminence Mbang Methodist Cathedral in Eket by 11 am.
A Thanksgiving service will hold at His Eminence Mbang Methodist Church on the 14th by 10 am, while the mourning house will close on Monday 14th August 2023.
