MPM Youths pass vote of confidence on Gov Emmanuel
…as group holds chapter EXCOs inaugural meeting
The Youth Wing of the Maintain Peace Movement (MPM) has passed a vote of confidence on Governor Udom Emmanuel for his exceptional astute leadership and good governance that have brought unprecedented economic growth, youth inclusiveness in governance and sustainable infrastructural development to the state.
Similarly, the youths also passed vote of confidence on the National Chairman of MPM, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem; Commissioner for Youth and Sports in the state, Sir Monday Uko; Supreme Leader of the State Youths Advisory Council, Isantim Kenneth Okon; Senior Special Assistant on Youth Matters to the Government, Aniefiok Iwa-Udofia and the entire leadership structure of youths in the state, for the quality services they have rendered in their different areas of responsibility.
This came after a motion was moved and seconded by the Youth Caucus Chairman of Eket, Comrade Tommy Enondien and Comrade Peace Clement of the Akwa Ibom State Female Youths group during the inaugural meeting of the MPM Chapter Youth Leaders across the state, on Thursday.
Having fully assessed the massive laudable sustainable projects executed within Mr Emmanuel’s six years in office, the youth leaders expressed total satisfaction that Governor Emmanuel has delivered creditably well in line with his campaign promises to the people of Akwa Ibom State as his achievements are highly remarkable.
“We pledge to support the Governor Udom Emmanuel administration to the end, and we also pledge to support his succession plan for the next governor of the state”, Comrade Enondien said while moving the motion on behalf of the youth leaders.
Group leaders who attended the meeting include the Deputy Directors of MPM in Ikot Ekpene and Eket senatorial district, Mr. Prince Ikim and Imeobong Akpan, as well as their counterpart in Uyo Senatorial District, the State President of Akwa Ibom Female Youths, Esther Nta, and leaders of the State Youth Caucus, Dakkada Ambassadors, Village and Christian youths in all the chapters of the state.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Supreme Leader of the State Youth Advisory Council, Isantim Kenneth Okon, said that the loyalty of the youth structure in the state rests on Governor Udom Emmanuel, while its solidarity lies with the National Executive Council of the Maintain Peace Movement let by Barr Emmanuel Enoidem.
Okon pledges that his leadership would ensure a good reward system where youths who work for the success of the PDP before, during and after the 2023 elections would be remunerated with good packages.
Isantim Okon said that the following meeting would be with state officers of the youth groups while the next would be with the Supreme Council of Youths, also known as the Youths Advisory Council which is the umbrella youth body in the state.
He charged the youth leaders to be ambassadors of peace and spread the gospel of unity, harmony and togetherness in the task of ushering in a new era of leadership that would sustain the development paradigm laid down by governor Emmanuel.
Also speaking, Prince Ikim urged the youth leaders to conduct themselves completely above board and be transparent in all their political dealings so as to earn the confidence of their colleagues.
Ikim urged the youth leaders to work in unison with coordinators of the Maintain Peace Movement in the respective local government areas so that everyone would be carried along in the scheme of things.
Governor Udom Emmanuel had inaugurated the Maintain Peace Movement (MPM) in November, declaring that the platform would usher in a smooth transition to his successor.
The inauguration ceremony which held at the Godswill Akpabio International stadium (Nest of Champions) in Uyo saw the outgoing National Legal Adviser of the PDP, Barr Emmanuel Enoidem, emerging as National Coordinator amid jubilation by hordes of PDP supporters who thronged the stadium to witness the oath-taking of the drivers of the platform.
