NYESOM WIKE BANS CART PUSHERS IN 2022 NEW YEAR MESSAGE
Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has banned the activities of cart-pushers in Rivers State.
Wike made this known in his 2022 New Year message to Rivers State people.
He said “we have decided to end the menace of cart-pushers who have become notorious for indiscriminate scavenging and littering of wastes on street corners and the medians of major roads and highways across the State”
He further alleged that cart pushers are responsible for stealing of manhole covers a situation that is an open secret.
“These cart pushers and their unknown collaborators are also responsible for the recurring stealing of manhole covers, an act which endangers peoples’ lives and public safety on our roads”
The State Government directed law enforcement agencies to arrest anyone who tries to violate the ban
