By Gabriel Efo

Chairman of Uyo Local Government Council, Dr Uwemedimo Udo, has said that Pastor Umo Eno, Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State, will make entrepreneurship and job creation the hallmark of his government when he becomes Governor in 2023.

Dr Udo stated this, Wednesday, on Inspiration 105.9 FM where he featured on Maintain Peace Movement (MPM) sponsored programme, Peace Voice, to discuss ‘good governance as an enabler of Peace and Development.’

“We have hospitals, schools, roads and other infrastructure. Now we are entering another phase of development which is massive job creation. You must figure out where you have your strength so that you can key in almost immediately,” he said.

While fielding questions from anchor Ekomobong Peters, the council boss noted that the political brouhaha in the state cannot stop the emergence of Pastor Eno, whom he described as God’s anointed, as Governor in 2023.

While describing Pastor Eno as a candidate that is popular among progressive minds, Dr Udo commended him for his peaceful mien even in the face of seeming political turbulence in the state.

“In politics, there must always be a struggle. The fact that there is a struggle does not take away the fact that one who God has annointed will succeed. You don’t expect everything to be rosy. You must expect hiccups here and there.

“Pastor Umo Bassey Eno is popular with progressive minded people. Someone like me, I like excellence so I go for excellence. I see excellence in Pastor Umo Bassey Eno,” he noted.

Udo said that Pastor Eno who has been faithful in building a young business into an enviable conglomerate, can be trusted to run the affairs of the state as Governor.

While stressing the need for peace in the state, the council boss described Governor Emmanuel as a man of peace and thanked him for encouraging peace in the state in the last seven years.

He said he has, in the last one year and six month as the chairman of Uyo LGA, made tangible marks.
