Senator OBA promises to upgrade facilities at College of Health Technology, Etinan
Akwa Ibom State Governorship hopeful and Senator representing Akwa Ibom North-East, Obong Bassey Albert (OBA), has promised to upgrade facilities at the College of Health Technology, Ikot Ebiya, Etinan, if given the mandate to lead the state in 2023.
Senator Albert disclosed this during a consultative visit of Peoples Democratic Party stakeholders in the area on Friday.
He said there was a need to bring the institution up to speed to reflect current realities in personnel, infrastructures, and basic needs that will give the college the needed comparative advantage to attract desired collaboration and increase students intake.
Albert hinted that courses such as community health, environmental health, public health nursing, and health information management offered by the institution could help provide personnel for achieving rural health progarmmes in his administration.
He lauded Governor Udom Emmanuel for dualizing the Uyo-Etinan-Ndon Eyo road, which he said, has provided a nexus for development. He said if, given the mandate, his administration would prioritize investment in critical infrastructures to ensure the area competes favourably with contemporaries.
Responding, the chapter chairman of Etinan praised the lawmaker for identifying with the area and prayed for his success in the primaries. He said the PDP in the area is ready to partner with him if he secures the party’s mandate at the primaries.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Strategic Committee of the Akwa Ubok Abasi Campaign Organization, His Grace, Arch Bishop Andrew Uwanta, extolled the virtues of Senator Albert. He charged the people to queue behind his aspiration, as his blueprint has the potential of transforming the state into a choice destination for investors.
