ENDORSEMENT PROPAGANDA WON’T HELP ANY ASPIRANT- USDMPF
The Uyo Senatorial District Media Practitioners Forum, USDMPF has frowned at fictitious claims that the Governor of the Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel has endorsed some Governorship aspirants.
Chairman of the Forum, Deacon Ofonime Isong blasted those coming up with such claims stating that they are enemies of the State who seek to heat up the polity and cause confusion.
Isong who spoke with newsmen after an Executive meeting of the Forum also dismissed the purported endorsements as a ploy to unsettle the administration of Governor Emmanuel and cause disaffection in his party, the PDP.
Deacon Isong who spoke on behalf of the USDMPF argued that, Governor Emmanuel had made it clear that, he will not impose any Governorship candidate but would rather lean on God and the people to choose a Governor who will serve the best interest of the State.
Isong urged politicians to desist from making fake endorsement claims, advising that, such propaganda will not help any aspirant in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
While charging political parties to ensure a level playing field for aspirants, Isong said the USDMPF will engage aspiring leaders to ascertain their vision, programmes and manifestos with a view to identifying the best possible aspirant to sell to the people.
He however sued for support for Governor Emmanuel’s Completion Agenda and charged the fake endorsement peddlers not to distract the Governor or propagate political mischief in the State.
The Chairman of the forum called on persons who believe they have what it takes to lead Akwa Ibom State in the next era to step up at the appropriate time and interface with the people rather than sponsor media hirelings to circulate false reports of alleged endorsements.
