…UDOM’S AIDE COMMENDS REP UKPONG-UDO FOR SUPPORTING INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT
…as Lawmaker rebuilds Ibakachi Physics Lab, provides boarding fees and uniforms for all students in Secondary school

The Member representing Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep Emmanuel Ukpong-udo, has been commended for his support for Governor Udom Emmanuel’s strides in infrastructure development in the state. The Lawmaker received this commendation today, Monday 17th January 2022 during the official handing over of a newly completed Physics Laboratory at the Lutheran Senior Science School, Ibakachi, in Ikono Local Government Area, to the school authority.
The Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom State Governor on Education Monitoring, Mr. Udeme Udofia, while on an inspection visit to the school stumbled on the handing over ceremony and was visibly elated. He showered accolades on Rep. Ukpong-udo, saying that this was his first visit to the school and that he was very impressed by the silent contribution the Lawmaker had made towards the improvement of educational infrastructure which ultimately supports Governor Udom Emmanuel’s strides in this area. He promised to bring this development to the notice of the Governor.

Rep Emmanuel Ukpong-udo was represented at the occasion by the DG, Mkpoikanabasi Campaign Organization, Barr. Edet Inyangidim, who disclosed that the Lawmaker reacted immediately he got wind of the state of disrepair of infrastructure in the school by sending a contingent to make an on-the-spot assessment. Upon receiving their report, he promptly set things in motion for renovation work to commence. He noted that the lawmaker also undertook a personal inspection a few weeks later during which event, he promised students of the school two pairs of uniform and a pair of sandals each.
The handing over ceremony also witnessed the fulfillment of these promises as Barr. Inyangidim presented a cheque for the sum of (N1.3m) being 50% of the boarding fees for the all the students in the school. He also presented two pairs of uniform and a pair of sandals for each of the 87 students. Receiving the cash and items, the Principal of the school, Pastor Daniel Udom expressed appreciation on behalf of the staff, students and parents of the school for the kind gesture shown by the Rep. Ukpong-udo. He commended the lawmaker for his prompt response and for keeping to his promise all within a one-month period. He thereafter announced that the new laboratory block will henceforth be known as “Hon. Emmanuel Ukpong-udo Physics Block.”
Also on hand to receive the items were the Vice Principal of the school, Mr Ukpabio and all members of the staff of the institution. Other dignitaries who witnessed the ceremony included a Special Assistant to the Governor on Project Monitoring, Hon Victor Akang; the leader of Ikono Legislature, (Hon Prince) Nsikak Ntok Ekanem; the PTA Chairman of the school, Mr Emmanuel Akpan; and the Alumni President of the school, Mr Godwin Udo.
Others were Aides of the Hose of Representatives member, Village heads, Ward Chairmen as well as Elders and other well-meaning indigenes of the community, who were unanimous in expressing appreciation to Rep Ukpong-udo for his impact in the area and the constituency at large. They prayed God to give him more Grace to continue to serve and put smiles on the faces of the Ikono/Ini people.
