BOBBY ONOFIOK HOUSE MAKES DEBUT AT MARY HANNEY SECONDARY SCHOOL ANNUAL INTER-HOUSE SPORTS COMPETITION
…Engr. Onofiok donate towards sports development
The 2022 annual inter-house sports competition of the famous girls’ school in Oro – Mary Hanney Secondary School had the Bobby Onofiok House as one of the competiting houses among several other houses.
The house whose official colour is green was named after a revered and patriotic son of the area – Engr. Bobby Onofiok who currently serves as the President of Oron Development Union, USA inc. and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Akwa Ibom Association of Nigeria (AKISAN) Inc. USA.
Addressing the Principal of the School – Mrs. Emma Ubongabasi James, Engr. Bobby Onofiok who was represented at the event by Comrade Mazi Asukwo Robert thanked the Principal of the school and the entire management team for the honour bestowed on him by naming one of their houses after him.
“I am grateful for this honour bestowed on us. We will support sports activities in this institution in every possible way we can. We have already started and we will do our best going forward”. He noted.
He also noted that participation in sport improves children’s educational attainment and skills development including empowerment, leadership and self-esteem – contributing to their overall well-being and future prospects.
The Principal thanked Engr. Bobby Onofiok for his prompt acceptance of the appointment as house Patron despite the very short notice. He described him as a patriotic son who’s all out for the development of his community at all times and prayed for God’s blessings on him and all his endeavours.
The house master – Mr. Akanam Williams and house mistress – Mrs. Patricia Effiom of the Bobby Onofiok house in their respective speeches expressed gratitude to Engr. Bobby Onofiok for his onerous contribution towards the successful outing of the house at the competition.
