COVID-19: ETINAN CHAIRMAN TELL RESIDENTS WHAT TO DO
Surv. Cletus Ekpo, Chairman of Etinan Local Government Area has addressed the people of his Community on issue bothering on the recent outbreakof Coronavirus.
Addressing the representative of the youths, elders women, traditional rulers and towncriers, Surv. Ekpo advised Etinan people and the general public to take precautionary measures and professional advice rolled out by experts to help curb the spread of the epidemic.
He promised that Etinan will liase with the government at the center towards the establishment of more Isolation centres as the need arises.
The amiable council Boss advised members of the public NOT TO PANIC ABOUT COVID-19! OUTBREAK,but understand that there’s currently no vaccine to prevent or cure the Coronavirus (COVID-19),hence the need to stay safe.
He reiterated on the following medical advice for personal protection which will help in curbing the spread of the virus!
1. Washing hands regularly for at least 20 seconds, with soap and running water or alcohol-based hand sanitiser.
2. Covering of nose and mouth with disposable tissues or flexed elbow when coughing or sneezing.
3. Avoiding close contact (1 meter or 3 feet) with people who are unfit.
4. Staying at home and self-isolating from others in the household if you feel unwell.
5. Don’t touch your eyes, nose, or mouth if your hands are not clean.
6. Do not cuddle or accept a hug from any person you meet.
7. Guardians and children should practice ‘social distancing’ while in public places.
8. Do not eat in public places and avoid crowded areas.

We will put up measures for community town criers to dessiminate information at the grassroot level in native language understood by our parents, while rolling out new set of Emergency contact numbers for cases within our domain.
