Amidst Defection rumors, Akwa Ibom Lawmaker says YPP does not have structure
Akwa Ibom lawmaker, Mr. Anietie Eka says Young Progressive Party has no single structure in the state despite rumors of his planned defection to the party. A plan he has denied.

A newspaper published in Uyo, had published Anietie Eka’s photograph as one of the seven lawmakers that will defect with Senator Bassey Albert to YPP.
But in a press statement signed personally by the lawmaker representing Uyo State Constituency, Eka denied any plan to defect from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and further pledged his support to the party and it’s candidates.
“I am a steadfast Member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and have not at any point nursed or contemplated any defection to the YPP or any party as a matter of fact.”

“… the PDP remains my party and the best for Akwa Ibom people. I am loyal to Governor Udom Emmanuel and solidly behind the Governorship aspiration of Pastor Umo Eno who by God’s grace and our support, will emerge victorious come 2023” part of statement read.
