
Despite being known for Student Sexual Abuse, Deeper Life High School Uyo emerges best in American Mathematics Competitions
Despite rocking the media over sex scandal and student abuse, Deeper Life High School, Uyo Campus has emerged overall best in the just concluded American Mathematics Competitions in Akwa Ibom State organized by The Mathematical Association of America and IAGIFTED for secondary schools in Nigeria.
Recall that Deborah Archibong a parent of the student in the school had accused two senior students of the Deeper Life High School of sexually abusing her son when the school authorities switched him from his dormitory to another dormitory filled with senior students.
The issue which climaxed at the magistrate court in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, saw the accused arraigned for conspiring to commit felony “indecent treatment of boys under fourteen and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 556 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 38 Vol. 2 Laws of Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria 2000”.
Be as it may, Students of Deeper Life High school floored other contenders from top schools in Akwa Ibom state to clinch 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th positions. Two SS1 students; Jewel Udoudo and Angel Patrick took 1st and 2nd positions respectively. A JSS3 student, Esther Ima John emerged 3rd while two other JSS3 students, Chinenye Chikere and Wobom Joshua Igo clinched 4th position.
Reacting to the academic exploit, the Principal of Deeper Life High School, Uyo campus, Mrs. Eunice Ndulue expressed happiness over the success story of the school.
She added that both teaching and non-teaching staffers of the school are poised to do more.
