The family of the 13 years old girl (Miss Precious Alex Benson) that was defiled by Prophet Hogan Thomas has cried foul over the ruling of the Chief Magistrate court to grant bail to the accused prophet who allegedly abused their little daughter sexually. Barr. Johnson Ebong who is watching brief for the complainant noted that the family is disappointed by the bail and stated that the family will “press for a substitution of fresh and more comprehensive charge against the accused”.
The Chief Magistrate court sitting in Uyo had days ago granted bail to the General Overseer of Real Believers Covenant Church Prophet Hogan Thomas who sexually defiled the young girl in his church at Obio Imo street.
Proceedings at the court shows that a plea for the accused was taken and he pleaded not guilty to the one count charge of indecent assault. The accused prophet was Granted bail and the case adjourned to 12th August for hearing.
Prophet Hogan who has been in police custody since his arrest is accused of allegedly inserting his fingers into the little girls vagina for two days thereby leading to severe abdominal pains and discomfort to the minor. The prophet before being arrested had stated that he committed no crime by inserting his fingers into little precious private part as he never used his penies on her. He said that he defiled the little girl so he could save her from witchcraft which she sold her womb to. He had made the Girls mother (who is a member of his church) to bring the girl to church for deliverance after which he asked her to remove her clothes and lay naked on the church vestry for him to remove the witchcraft from her vagina. News making the rounds indicates that Prophet Hogan Thomas has been into this act with minors for ritual purposes. Only time will tell if he will be convicted.
