AKWA IBOM GOVERNMENT SPEAKS ON CHURCH REOPENING TOMORROW

Akwa Ibom State Government has reacted to the information currently available on the social media space that churches are free to open tomorrow.
Akwa Ibom Commissioner for Information, Sir Charles Udoh in a press release signed personally by him titled “RELIGIOUS AND SOCIAL GATHERING STILL PROHIBITED IN AKWA IBOM STATE“, the information guru debunked such insinuation of church resumption in the state.
“In line with the commitment of the Akwa Ibom State Government to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the state, it has become necessary to reiterate that ALL RELIGIOUS GATHERING AND ACTIVITIES ARE STILL PROHIBITED until further notice“, part of the statement reads.
He further stressed that ban on burials, weddings and other forms of gatherings is still in force.
“Similarly, the ban on burials, weddings and indeed all forms of social gatherings is still in-force.Law enforcement agencies have been mandated to ensure full compliance and defaulters will be prosecuted.”
